Meeting with George
- Get all documents on micro storage device.
- I'll create a new user id from google which will allow us to create a profile and use the Town Seal for the photo.
- Ability for all members of the BRC to be "authors" of the BLOG. They can add items as well as comment on other items & comments.
- Place all documents available on the web and link to them by way of the BLOG. This allows the public to view/comment from anywhere that there is a computer link. I can help with getting things like maps onto the system.
- I have a group of people that I would like to invite for discussion about business and development (commercial and residential). I would like to have the BRC involved in that. The invitees might include: investors (I have a couple clients); developers (WCC contacts); high end architect/builder Roger Nold Design; local contractor/builder (High Peaks - Schell & Hokey McKinley). Some target properties I am involved with include: property on Halds Rd (Mike & Barrie Beauvais); Adams Hardware; WCC; Haemmerli Farms on Dudley Rd.
- Talk about the person that says, "I'm all for expansion and growth, but not in my back yard". It seems to me that we want to have something to offer that mindset for a number of reasons. First, that may change with the sale of the land, the passing of the land to the next generation, a change in a person's circumstance. One thought is that some folks are tempted to place their property in a trust or to sell rights to a conservancy agency. Suppose we give them something to trade, such as density, in return for reduced valuation for tax purposes that can be passed on to future owners (ex: 2% for each building right, give up 10 building rights and the Land Tax is based on .8 x FMV) . That might allow greater density in an area that could sustain it and the overall taxes to the hamlet would be greater because of it.
